Choosing haptics and tactile feedback
Haptics turn telemetry into physical sensation: kerb strikes, gear shifts, ABS pulses, and road texture arriving through the chassis instead of the speakers. Bass shakers deliver low-frequency weight and rumble; tactile transducers respond faster with more precise, detailed effects; multi-unit kits place transducers around the rig so effects have location — a kerb under the left front feels like a kerb under the left front.
Three specs carry the decision: power handling, the number of transducers included, and amplification — most transducers need an external amplifier, so check the amplifier-included spec before you buy. Mounting location shapes what you feel: seat for body cues, pedal plate for surface texture underfoot, chassis for everything at once. Decouple the rig properly and the effects stay in the build instead of traveling through the floor.
TrophySim handles the wiring, amplifier setup, and per-channel tuning on every haptics install — the part of tactile that's genuinely fiddly to get right.
