Choosing a button box
A button box moves the controls a wheel can't hold — brake bias, traction control, pit limiter, wipers, ignition — onto physical switches, rotaries, and encoders. Endurance and GT drivers lean on them hardest, adjusting the car continuously across a stint without reaching for a keyboard, and the muscle memory of a real switch beats a menu every time.
Input count is the working spec: tally what you actually adjust mid-race and leave growth room. USB boxes are plug-and-play on PC; wireless units trade the cable for battery management. Mounting ranges from chassis rails and desks to wheel-mounted plates and handheld boxes — pick the spot your hand can find without looking. Built-in displays add telemetry and dash functions to the same footprint.
